This level has been developed to cover 3 different strands – Repairer, Estimator/Manager and Refinisher.
REPAIRER
- Achieve both Bronze and Silver Recognition Levels
- Complete another 8 hours worth of courses from the Silver level
- Current WCS03 – Automotive Steel MIG Welding Qualification (Mandatory)
- Complete 12 hours of courses from the following list:
- SPS05 (6 hours) – I-CAR Hands on Sectioning and Welding Front Rails (Mandatory)
- APR01 (4 hours) – Aluminium Exterior Panel Repair and Replacement
- ALI01 (4 hours) – Aluminium-Intensive Vehicle Repairs
- CFR01 (4 hours) – Carbon Fibre/Foams
- CYC01 (4 hours) – Cycle Times for the Modern Repair Process
- CRA01 (4 hours) – Customer Service, Financials & Productivity in Collision Repair
- EST01 (4 hours) – Estimating & Damage Analysis
ESTIMATOR / MANAGER
- Achieve both Bronze and Silver Recognition Levels
- Complete another 8 hours worth of courses from the Silver level
- Complete 12 hours of courses from the following list:
- REF07 (4 hours) – Waterborne Paint Technology
- REF10 (4 hours) – Understanding and Preventing Refinish Defects
- CYC01 (4 hours) – Cycle Times for the Modern Repair Process
- CRA01 (4 hours) – Customer Service, Financials and Productivity in Collision Repair
- APR01 (4 hours) – Aluminium Exterior Panel Repair and Replacement
- ALI01 (4 hours) – Aluminium-Intensive Vehicle Repairs
- CFR01 (4 hours) – Carbon Fibre/Foams
- EST01 (4 hours) – Estimating & Damage Analysis
REFINISHER
- Complete 4 hours of courses from the following list:
- REF07 (4 hours) – Waterborne Paint Technology
- REF10 (4 hours) – Understanding and Preventing Refinish Defects
- Achieve 10 I-CAR points in total from appropriate courses run by your paint company
Platinum Recognition certification requires annual revalidation by completing at least 2 hours of I-CAR NZ accredited training each year.
