Platinum Recognition Level

This level has been developed to cover 3 different strands – Repairer, Estimator/Manager and Refinisher.</>

REPAIRER

  • Achieve both Bronze and Silver Levels
  • Complete another 8 hours worth of courses from the Silver level
  • Current WCS03 – Automotive Steel MIG Welding Qualification (Mandatory)
  • Complete 12 hours of courses from the following list:
    • SPS05 (4 hours) – I-CAR Hands on Sectioning and Welding Front Rails (Mandatory)
    • APR01 (4 hours) – Aluminium Exterior Panel Repair and Replacement
    • ALI01 (4 hours) – Aluminium-Intensive Vehicle Repairs
    • CFR01 (4 hours) – Carbon Fibre/Foams course
    • CYC01 (4 hours) – Cycle Times for the Modern Repair Process
    • CRA01 (4 hours) – Customer Service, Financials & Productivity in Collision Repair

ESTIMATOR / MANAGER

  • Achieve both Bronze and Silver Levels
  • Complete another 8 hours worth of courses from the Silver level
  • Complete 12 hours of courses from the following list:
    • REF07 (4 hours) – Waterborne Paint Technology
    • REF10 (4 hours) – Understanding and Preventing Refinish Defects
    • CYC01 (4 hours) – Cycle Times for the Modern Repair Process
    • CRA01 (4 hours) – Customer Service, Financials and Productivity in Collision Repair
    • APR01 (4 hours) – Aluminium Exterior Panel Repair and Replacement
    • ALI01 (4 hours) – Aluminium-Intensive Vehicle Repairs
    • CFR01 (4 hours) – Carbon Fibre/Foams course

REFINISHER

  • Complete 4 hours of courses from the following list:
    • REF07 (4 hours) – Waterborne Paint Technology
    • REF10 (4 hours) – Understanding and Preventing Refinish Defects
  • Achieve 10 I-CAR points in total from appropriate courses run by your paint company

Platinum Recognition certification requires annual revalidation by completing at least 2 hours of I-CAR NZ accredited training each year.
